The Sovereign Bank Arena celebrates its eighth birthday this weekend, and the party will last all weekend with four different events over the three days. The Arena opened its doors to the public for the first time on October 6, 1999 with the World Wrestling Federation. Since opening, the Arena has hosted over 1,200 events with over 4,000,000 guests.

AVP Hot Winter Nights Tour Comes to the Sovereign Bank Arena January 31st.
The Sovereign Bank Arena is preparing for a wild weather forecast this January and is also gearing up for a sandstorm that will dump up to 600,000 pounds of sand into the arena. In response to the forecast, the AVP has scheduled an indoor beach volleyball tournament on January 31st at 7:00 p.m.
